Our Team
At Benten Technologies, we have five core values that we live by
Our corporate culture is woven with these core values, shaping the essence of our company and reflecting the qualities we cherish in our team members. They’re the bedrock of our culture, illuminating how we operate, and what we expect from ourselves. These values are not just words; they are the life force of our company. We embody these principles daily, and they are encapsulated in five simple, memorable words: How, We, Do, Better, and Wow! Each word encapsulates one of our core values, guiding our actions and defining who we are as a company.
These core values are ingrained into our corporate culture and DNA. These core values exemplify the quality and characteristics of individuals that thrive within our company, define our culture, and set the expectations for how we operate. We live and breathe these values as a company. The five core values are: How, We, Do, Better, and Wow! These five words represent easy-to-remember terms that represent each of our core values.
The word “how” represents our core value of curiosity
When we say “How,” we’re embracing the core value of curiosity. It’s about nurturing our intellectual curiosity, fostering a culture of lifelong learning, and never ceasing to ask “how.” For us, it means constantly exploring new horizons: How can we construct a superior digital health solution to enhance people’s lives? How can we inspire and cultivate healthy habits through our solutions, empowering individuals to lead healthier lives? And, most importantly, how can we truly make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who rely on our solutions? Curiosity fuels our innovation, and “How” is our compass in the quest for answers.
The word “how” represents our core value of curiosity. We believe in being intellectually curious, being lifelong learners, and always asking how. For example, how might we build a better digital health solution that will improve the lives of people? Or… How might we engage and create healthy habits with our solutions so people can live healthier lives? And finally, how might we impact the lives of people that use our solution?
The word “we” represents our core value of community
“We” embodies our unwavering commitment to community, recognizing its transformative strength. Through diverse, cross-disciplinary teams, including academicians, clinicians, data scientists, engineers, and computer scientists, we unite to democratize healthcare and create enduring solutions. Beyond our teams, we embrace user-centered design and co-creation, engaging our community in shaping innovations. Guided by the wisdom of an African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” we choose unity, partnering with our community for a future of innovation and enduring change.
The word “we” represents our core value of community. We believe in the power of community to create lasting impact. This is why in our research and innovation, we leverage multi-disciplinary teams to create solutions that can democratize healthcare with academicians, clinicians, data scientists, engineers, and computer scientists. Additionally, we also believe in working with the community as part of a user-centered design and co-creation process to come up with innovative and impactful solutions. As the old African proverb says, if you want to go fast, you go alone. But if you want to go far, you go together.
The word “do” represents our core value of doing and not just saying
At our core, we embrace the philosophy of doing, where everyone eagerly rolls up their sleeves to get the work done. Just as the great Jedi master once proclaimed, “Do or not, … there is no try.” We wholeheartedly believe in taking action, each one of us contributing—be it through volunteering, supporting a colleague, or simply taking steps forward. We understand that any step in the right direction is progress, an opportunity for learning and growth. Our commitment to doing what’s right, adopting an agile mindset, and actively engaging in research and development. In this spirit of action, we forge a path of progress and continuous improvement.
We believe in the power of doing, with everyone rolling up their sleeves to do the work. As the great jedi master once said, “Do or not, … there is no try”. So, we believe in taking action…each one of us, whether it is volunteering, helping a fellow co-worker, or just taking steps forward. Any step forward is progress and an opportunity to learn and grow. This includes doing the right thing, doing Agile, and doing research and development.
The word “better” represents our core value of continuous improvement
In our ethos, the power of 1% is paramount. We firmly believe that by improving just 1% each day, we can achieve remarkable growth—37 times better by year’s end. This principle drives both individuals and our social innovation company to prioritize daily self-improvement and refine our processes continually. This unwavering commitment informs our healthcare innovation, leading to superior outcomes that ripple outward, ultimately contributing to a better world. With the power of the 1%, we embark on an ever-evolving path of progress, where every incremental step forward is a testament to our dedication to excellence.
We believe in the power of the 1%. The power of 1% is that if we improve 1% each day, by the end of the year, we would be 37 times better. So as individuals and as a social innovation company, we believe in getting better each day and making continuous improvements in ourselves and in our processes to create better healthcare innovation. It is not about being the best in the beginning but always striving to be better each day to become the best. This will translate to better innovation, which leads to better outcomes and ultimately to a better world.
The word “wow” represents our core value of doing work that overcomes the world’s problems
We’re driven by the belief that we should dedicate our time to work that we’re passionate about—work that addresses the complex challenges of our world. We recognize that it will take a collective community of social entrepreneurs to confront the intricate issues in healthcare, a necessary step on the path to impacting over a billion lives. Our journey is a testament to the power of purpose-driven work and the potential for transformative change when we come together as a force for good.
We believe that life is short, so we should use our precious time doing work that we love, addressing the wicked problems of the world. We believe that it will take a community of social entrepreneurs to tackle the wicked problems in healthcare in order to impact a billion lives.
